Dating back to the 1930’s when the comic trade first began, comics sold at newsstands and in stores across the country have been relatively cheap sitting at 50 cents to 2 dollars. However some pieces of comic book history hold special sentimental and historical value and in turn have incredibly large values. From Superman to Batman here are the top three most expensive comics:

  1. Action Comics 1 – The debut of Superman – $4,530,000
  2. Detective Comics 27 – The debut of Batman – $2,490,000
  3.  Marvel Comics 1 – The first superhero comic published by Marvel Comics – $859,000
